...I am extremely cute and may cause you to jump on a plane bound for North Carolina!
Tonight we went to Kroger for some groceries. When we came out to load the bags into the car, I saw Ethan chowing down on a candy bar. Neither Eric or I had noticed it earlier because Ethan was in the little car thing attached to the front of the cart. This was the first time we'd had to deal with an incident like this. Eric had a firm chat with Ethan and then mommy and Eth went back into the store to pay for the $100 Grand (ironic) and tell the checkout lady sorry. Ethan didn't really seem be bothered that he'd just ripped off a business. Hmmm. But something must've sunk in because in his prayers before bed he said "...thankful that I can say sorry to the lady and not steal candy..." amidst his usual "thankful for Christmas and Jack and Christmas and Jack come to park..." etc. Hopefully this is the first and last of this, but I have a feeling...Mug Shot
During spring break at Duke, we took a little trip to the outer banks of NC. We drove the 4.5 hours out, went to the beach and stayed the night in Kill Devil Hills, where the Wright Brothers flew the first aircraft. It is still the off season so we got a great rate on the motel. The next morning when we were getting ready for another day of adventure, we ran into our friends, Morgan and Emily Stinson. They were staying at the same place....imagine that. We spent a fun day with them that included seeing the Wright Brothers museum, lighthouses, Ft. Raleigh, Roanoke Island, the beach, and Festival Park (pirate heaven). It was a fun little trip. Ethan got a kick out of all the sights, the sand and playing with the safe in the motel room!
I was lucky enough to have a little roommate reunion this last month. My good friend Carrie came from Utah to visit me for a few days and our other roommate Luci came down from Maryland with her husband Steven. They were in Raleigh for a conference so it worked out perfect that they could come see us. We had a ball chatting and catching up. I have such fun people in my life! Thanks for the visit guys!
Here is Durham we experienced some funny weather this last week. On Monday school was canceled for Eric due to a snowstorm. Its not like it was even a very bad one, but here they don't really have the means to clear the roads well and all that. Anyway, Ethan and Eric made a little snowman and all that. By Friday, we were experiencing 70 degree gorgeousness. We spent a huge portion of the afternoon at the park and we all got a sunburn. Saturday was the exact same way. We were at the park for hours and even had a BBQ with our friends. It was the loveliest weather you can imagine. Ethan had such a blast playing outside. The days go by so much quicker when romping around outdoors is an option.Warm weather, stay around, I love you!!
